Roses - Update

Editing and Pick-up Shoot

- - - short update from a project I was "on-set editor" for - - -

Our editors and director have been slaving away for hours and hours on the edit and it’s coming along quite nicely. We've already shown a rough draft to several people and have received very positive (and valuable) feedback.

A couple of Saturdays ago we recorded some pick-up shots, which are basically scenes that help the storyline flow better but that we didn't have time to film during the bulk of principal photography. We asked our friend Allison Kinningham to stand in as a body double for our lead actress and as you can see below she did a pretty good job.

Below are 2 frames from the movie that I was able to “liberate” from our editing team. ;) Click either photo for a larger image.

Or, as the case may be, handing out accolades to."

Award Nominees are:

- Blue Like Jazz
- Monumental
- October Baby
- Rogue Saints
- Unconditional

Be sure to head over to the blog and vote for your favorite! However if you want the vote to count...you'll have to create an account on their website, but hey it's Focus on the Family, so why not?

October Baby - In Theaters March 23

Hope for a Dying Culture

This weekend, the biggest box-office hit will be a film based on a popular book about young people being forced to fight to the death. That movie will open in approximately 4,000 theaters. This is also the weekend that OCTOBER BABY opens—in 385 theaters. Screen count is hardly the only difference: OCTOBER BABY offers a resounding message of hope, forgiveness, and the beauty of life.

The time is at hand. If you believe in the sanctity of life, make your voice heard by seeing OCTOBER BABY when it opens this weekend. Better yet, get a group of friends or family members together to see it with you. You'll experience what Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life calls, "a remarkable movie … a significant story beautifully told."

And more than that, you'll be letting the movie industry know you support films that support life. Let's send a loud message to a culture in need of a wake-up call!

October Baby

This is a new film that will be coming out in theaters next year but has a limited pre-release in MS and AL this Oct.

SYNOPSIS

OCTOBER BABY is the coming of age story of a beautiful and naive college freshman who discovers that her entire life is a lie and sets out on a road trip to discover herself and the answers she craves.

Ken Carpenter posted about the film on the Franklin Springs Blog:

"Congratulations to The Erwin Brothers, Producers Dan Atchison and Justin Tolley, and composer Paul Mills...on telling an engaging, compelling story. The film features a tremendous performance by first-time feature actress Rachel Hendrix (below), who takes a big step in raising the bar of acting talent in faith-based films.  We encourage you to see October Baby."
