Wait Till It's Free

This is a feature length documentary directed by Colin Gunn. I'm super excited to say that I had the privilage to be the Editor and Colorist for the project!

During the filming I also helped with a couple interviews and directed some scenes at the diner.

Here's the movie trailer, check it out!

SYNOPSIS:

'Wait Till It's Free' is an entertaining and provocative look at the current healthcare crisis. Coming at the healthcare issue from a non-partisan but none-the-less conservative and Christian outlook, this film takes a hard and honest look at the way we do health care in America. The film looks at every relevant aspect of modern medicine, from the escalating cost of health insurance to the move towards universal government healthcare. The film asks what kind of alternatives there are to families caught between expensive insurance based coverage and the "free" government solutions. The film explores the alternatives for individuals, churches, and families and offers moving and enlightening stories about those that have chosen to follow innovative and independent approaches to healthcare.

Wait Till It's Free

“Wait Till It’s Free” is an entertaining and provocative look at the current healthcare crisis. This film takes a hard and honest look at the way we do healthcare in America by looking at every relevant aspect of modern medicine, from the escalating cost of health insurance to the move towards universal government healthcare. The film asks what kind of alternatives there are for families caught between expensive insurance-based coverage and the “Free” government solutions. The film explores the alternatives for individuals, churches, and families, and offers moving and enlightening stories about those that have chosen to follow innovative and independent approaches to healthcare. We journeyed to Washington, D.C. and across the Atlantic to Glasgow, Paris, and Brussels to bring you extraordinary information you won’t find anywhere else. Along the way, we met authorities like Dr. Ron Paul (former U.S. Congressman), and John Mackey (CEO of Whole Foods), as well as British experts Theodore Dalrymple (journalist and retired physician) and MEP Daniel Hannan (a British representative to the European Union). We engage a host of other experts from both sides of the gurney, meeting patients suffering the burdens of socialized medicine and doctors isolated from their patients by crippling regulation. This film goes miles beneath the surface of ObamaCare to expose the 100-year progression of socialized medicine in America. Traveling to my home country of Scotland, I ferret out the eerie truth about waiting lines, death panels, and total disregard for human life in Great Britain’s socialized healthcare system.

Health Care "Reform"

"American citizens who refuse to purchase an Obama-approved health insurance plan will face fines of up to 250,000 dollars and up to five years in jail."
"The House passed its health care bill late Saturday night by a 220-215 vote, with 39 Democrats in opposition and one Republican supporting it. Senate approval is considered less certain due to opposition by all Republicans and some moderate Democrats."

I'm assuming you've all heard about the 2,000 page Health Care Reform bill that Democrats are trying to get passed in Washington. But how many of us really know what they are proposing? The main concern that I've heard is that it includes Government funding for abortion (which thankfully the House stopped with an amendment before voting on the bill.) But there are still approx. another 1,990 pages of "reform" mandates that would have a huge effect on every single person in America, including the illegal immigrants...so what does it say?

Here is a 20 minute summarization speech given by a Republican during the House debate. I call it the, "But It Doesn't Stop There" speech.

Obviously President Obama was very pleased that the bill passed the House, and is now encouraging the Senate to pass it as well. His "speech" on what the bill includes is a little different though.

From what I understand, they are trying to get this pushed through the Senate before the end of the year. I encourage everyone to contact your Senators and let them know where you stand on the issue of Health Care! Contact info for Senators can be found here.

Who Pays for Cap and Trade?

I didn't know much about the Cap and Trade bill, so I decided to look it up...and here is what I found.
What Would a Successful Cap-and-Trade Program Look Like?
American Progress.org

The cap: To achieve this goal, the U.S. government should steadily tighten the cap until emissions are reduced to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050. Businesses would have to obtain permits entitling them to emit a certain quantity of carbon dioxide or its equivalent in other greenhouse gases. All permits would be auctioned off by the government. Emissions permits in the near term would likely fall in the range of $10 to $15 per metric ton of carbon dioxide or its equivalent.

The trade: Companies unable to meet their emissions quotas could purchase allowances from other companies that have acquired more permits than they need to account for their emissions. The cost of buying and selling these credits would be determined by the marketplace, which over time would reduce the cost of trading the credits as trading becomes more widespread and efficient. - full article and down-loadable document here

LIBERTY MAVEN:
"The good news is that President Obama isn’t going to Copenhagen to sign a treaty, but he may sign a proposal that could lead to a treaty at a later date. The Copenhagen proposal is designed to create an international scheme to control carbon emissions (and the entire world economy in the bargain).

President Obama wants to have the “cap and trade” (cap and tax) bill passed before he goes to Copenhagen.

Our goal should be to send him to Denmark empty-handed." Click here to find out more about sending a letter to Congress.

CITIZENLINK: "The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee is considering a cap and trade bill that purportedly takes aim at global warming.

Under a cap-and-trade scheme, the government would set a limit or "cap" on emissions of carbon dioxide. If, for example, a company goes over the limit, the government would force it to buy "credits" from other companies deemed by government to be producing less carbon dioxide than the cap allows. In countries where it has been tried, fraud has been rampant.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chairs the committee and is co-author of the bill. She claims the legislation would create jobs, but that contradicts a statement made to Congress earlier this month by the director of the Congressional Budget Office that said cap and trade would cause "significant" job losses." - full article

NEWSWEEK: "Cap-and-trade does very little at a very high cost. Americans would spend $100 billion to $200 billion a year for limited results: a 15 percent cut in U.S. emissions would reduce global emissions by less than 4 percent, which would have a negligible worldwide impact. Investment bankers need cap-and-trade to make their "green energy" deals successful. That's great (and profitable) for them, but their earnings would come at the expense of every other American." - full article

WALL STREET JOURNAL
: "The Congressional Budget Office -- Mr. Orszag's former roost -- estimates that the price hikes from a 15% cut in emissions would cost the average household in the bottom-income quintile about 3.3% of its after-tax income every year. That's about $680, not including the costs of reduced employment and output. The three middle quintiles would see their paychecks cut between $880 and $1,500, or 2.9% to 2.7% of income.

Cap and trade, in other words, is a scheme to redistribute income and wealth -- but in a very curious way. It takes from the working class and gives to the affluent; takes from Miami, Ohio, and gives to Miami, Florida; and takes from an industrial America that is already struggling and gives to rich Silicon Valley and Wall Street "green tech" investors who know how to leverage the political class." - full article

Obama Signs Hate Crimes Bill

The First Amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Wiki - Hate Speech
: "The United States federal government and state governments are broadly forbidden by the First Amendment of the Constitution from restricting speech. See, e.g., Gitlow v. New York (1925), incorporating the free speech clause.

Generally speaking, the First Amendment prohibits governments from regulating the content of speech, subject to a few recognized exceptions such as defamation[27] and incitement to riot.[28] Even in cases where speech encourages illegal violence, instances of incitement qualify as criminal only if the threat of violence is imminent.[29]

This strict standard prevents prosecution of many cases of incitement, including prosecution of those advocating violent opposition to the government, and those exhorting violence against racial, ethnic, or gender minorities. See, e.g., Yates v. United States (1957), Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969)."

Washington (CNN) -- President Obama on Wednesday signed a law that makes it a federal crime to assault an individual because of his or her sexual orientation or gender identity.

The expanded federal hate crimes law, hailed by supporters as the first major federal gay rights legislation, was added to a $680 billion defense authorization bill that Obama signed at a packed White House ceremony.

He cited the work of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts and others "to make this day possible."

Earlier this month, Obama told the Human Rights Campaign, the country's largest gay rights group, that the nation still needs to make significant changes to ensure equal rights for gays and lesbians. "Despite the progress we've made, there are still laws to change and hearts to open," he said in an address at the group's annual dinner. "This fight continues now and I'm here with the simple message: I'm here with you in that fight."

Among other things, Obama has called for the repeal of the ban on gays serving openly in the military -- the "don't ask, don't tell" policy. He also has urged Congress to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and pass the Domestic Partners Benefit and Obligations Act.

However, some advocates for stronger rights for the lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender community have complained that Obama's administration is moving too slowly on his legislative promises.

The full news article has quotes from Obama about where he hoping to go from here. I highly recommend reading this news article.

Jewish Telegraphic Agency -- "We must stand against crimes that are meant not only to break bones, but to break spirits -- not only to inflict harm, but to instill fear," Obama said at a White House reception Wednesday commemorating the signing of the bill. "Because no one in America should ever be afraid to walk down the street holding the hands of the person they love," he said. "No one in America should be forced to look over their shoulder because of who they are or because they live with a disability."

The Huffington Post -- "I'm also honored to have the family of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, who fought so hard for this legislation."

Obama's Media Control Strategy

There is a new article out by Cliff Kincaid who is the Editor of Accuracy in Media.

"A new national broadband plan, combined with the just-announced FCC plan for a "net neutrality," or regulating the access to the Internet, provides the opportunity for the federal government to define a "new public square" with a "common space with shared facts" as Ornstein put it at the August 6 FCC event. He explained, "It's something that was easier when we had three broadcast channels and virtually everybody in the society tuned into them."

While the Internet is apparently confusing people with too much information, Ornstein said that the Internet also offers "multiple opportunities" to "develop a public square." He made these remarks at
an event presided over by Obama's FCC chairman Julius Genachowski. The assumption of the exercise was that the federal government, under the cover of a national broadband plan, should not only regulate the Internet but provide new media for the public."

Is Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty? C.A. Part 3

"On October 14, Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change skeptic, gave a presentation in St. Paul, MN. In this 4-minute excerpt from his speech, he issues a dire warning to all Americans regarding the United Nations Climate Change Treaty, scheduled to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009." You can view the full 90 minute speech here. In the full speech he covers the truth about global warming, banning of DDT, cures for HIV, global population control and much more! You can also download the PowerPoint here.

I highly encourage you to go to the GlobalClimateScam website for more information about Monckton, videos and download-able resources. They also have a download of the treaty you can look at!
After you watch the video, you should listen to this radio broadcast that gives a lot more information about the system that is being setup.

This is a recent episode from Brannon Howse's radio program "Worldview Matters" and it is FREE through Oct. 30th! "On today's program Gary revealed first hand information that was gained from his membership in an organization while a government employee...Gary told Brannon off air, at the end of the program, that he has never revealed this much information on any radio program...Gary is a very credible researcher and just spoke for a conference in Minnesota hosted by Jan Markell that was attended by 5,000 to 7,000 people."" Listen to or download the mp3 here.

Another resource that I have found thought-provoking recently is the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre, "Bonhoeffer: The Cost of Freedom." If you haven't heard this audio drama, I encourage you to do so. If you already own it but haven't listened to it in a while...you might dig it back out. It's interesting to listen to in light of current events and our nation's possible future!
